Harlech Doors work on new Merthyr Tydfil Health Park completed
Harlech Doors have been thanked by contractors Laing O’Rourke for their role in working on the £33 million Merthyr Tydfil Health Park, which has been handed over ahead of schedule.
The centre was announced last year by Welsh Government Health Minister Edwina Hart AM and is due to open its doors to the public in 2013.
Harlech Doors provided a sectional door and 10 double steel hinge doors for the new site which will provide specialist medical, surgical and out of hours GP services when it opens next year.
International construction and engineering firm Laing O’Rourke thanked us for our role in providing the building for the public sector ahead of schedule, up to standard and within budget.
In 2009 Harlech Doors tendered successfully for work at the Grand Pier as part of a major £39 million project by construction firm John Sisk & Son.
The project require us provide 25 electrically operated roller shutters of varying sizes, alongside other works including fire curtains and sectional doors, as part of a sensitive commercial project upgrading an Edwardian structure to meet modern construction standards.
In March last year we quoted for work with Monmouthshire County Council to manufacture and install a dozen doors at their Old Pill Farm site in Caldicot, near Chepstow.
We won the works, providing the best value for the contract and maintaining contact with the contractor throughout the quote process.

Late in 2011 Harlech Doors tendered to provide roller shutters and fire doors for the largest privately run fire station in the UK.
We worked for Valero Energy Corporation, a global energy provider and new entrant into Europe’s refining market, to improve the former Chevron Limited site to meet the new owner’s requirements.
